In Uttar Pradesh, only E- Challan action will be taken for vehicles and manual invoicing will be closed. The traffic directorate took this decision after successful operation of the scheme in 10 districts of the state. IG (Traffic) Deepak Ratan said that in the first phase, the system of e-challan in 10 districts was started under the pilot project, after the pilot project was successful, it was also implemented in other districts. The e-challan of the vehicle whose e-challan is already conducted, will reach in the vehicle owner’s mobile via SMS, but also a copy of the e-challan will be sent by post.
After successful operation of the scheme in all these 10 districts, the action of e-challan was initiated by the Civil Police, Traffic Police and State Railway Police (GRP) in all the districts of the state. In some districts, 20 percent manual paper was being done due to non-availability of postage money to inform the vehicle owner about the new fine. After this, it has now been decided that paper challan or manual challan should be completely stopped from June 15 and only e-challan action should be taken by the civil police, traffic police and railway police.
