In the 96th convocation ceremony of the University of Delhi (DU), the university has created history by Issuing degrees to 3 lakh students. Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank was present as the chief guest at the function and Grants Commission Chairman Prof. DP Singh joined as special guest.  Nikita Bhateja, a student of MSc Statistics of Hindu College of DU, topped the post-graduation in the entire university. She scored 94 percent. She has been awarded four gold medals and awards.

Earlier, She completed her BSc Statistics Honors from the year 2014 to 2017 from Ramjas College, DU.  She had scored 93 percent marks. Nikita was also honored with JN Mitra Memorial Medal and SR Gupta Memorial Award. Nikita has been serving as a risk analyst with HDFC Bank since June 2019. Her father Ravi Bhateja, mother Yog Bhateja and elder sister Neha Bhateja are very happy. Nikita said, I did not read all the chapters of a subject together, but divided them in a week.

48-year-old Narottam Singh (MA in Buddhist Studies) has secured 79 per cent marks. He has also received a gold medal in DU's 96th convocation ceremony for degrees and good marks. Narottam, who was a meteorologist in the meteorological department, decided to study voluntarily and got a gold medal. Earlier, he studied BSc Physics Honors from DU in 1993. Also, in 1996, he studied MSc Electronics from Jamia Millia Islamia university. Narottam said that every man in life should work according to his will. Do the work that makes you happy.
