The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) prepares for the first dope test at the National Inter-District Junior Athletics Meet-2019. In this competition, players from the district level directly take part in the sports. That is why NADA has planned a dope test at this level too, so that the foundation of the game can be strengthened. Nearly 4500 junior players from 500 districts across the country will participate in this National Athletics Meet to be held in Tirupati.

Players of 12 year of age take part in the National Inter-District Athletics Meet. It competes in under-14 and under-16 age groups. The athletics organizations of the districts select and send their best players for this competition. Competition is more when there is participation in the National directly from the district. The dope test is done by NADA in senior class games. Now, the purpose of bringing more than 12 years of age group in the junior category to the scope of dope testing is to motivate the players and their families to distance themselves from the negative aspects of doping.

Athletics Federation of India officials motivates athletics coaches to guide the players correctly. Coaches are also instructed to stay away from banned drugs. In such a situation, if any kind of doping is found in the players of younger age, strict action will be taken by taking their coaches as responsible. According to District Athletic Association Secretary Annu Kumar, this initiative of AFI and NADA will help keep the new generation of players clean. The players who poisoned the players should also be identified and their names will be disclosed, so that the players and family also avoid going near them.
