Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh has demanded KN Govindacharya, a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) campaigner, to be appointed as the Deputy Chairman of NITI Aayog. Digvijay Singh lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that you have to respect the Swadeshi movement of the Sangh. Digvijay Singh wrote in his tweet, 'Modi ji you will never like Govindacharya ji because you never like a person worthy around you. He is more qualified than you and has been senior in the Sangh. If we want India to be self-reliant by making local the vocal, then the 'Swadeshi' movement of the 'Sangh' will have to be respected.

Digvijay Singh demanded that the most suitable person for self-reliant India is Govindacharya ji, make him Deputy Chairman of NITI Aayog. He said that he has been a supporter of the Sangh because of its emphasis on Swadeshi. Govindacharya has done a lot of work in this direction, but he has been separated in this period. Digvijay Singh further said that if indeed the local is to be vocal, then Govindacharj should be brought to the NITI Aayog, which plays an important role in determining the policies of the country, but the Central Government will not do so. In fact, the ideology of Swadeshi and self-reliance is the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi.

Digvijay Singh said that those talking about the local should read the books of Hind Swaraj. He further said that subsidy on Khadi was abolished in the current era. Small business is closing down, large industries are getting benefits, rich is getting richer and poor is becoming poorer.
