Indian Premier League (IPL) team Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Monday when he stepped in for practice at M. A Chidambaram Stadium, he was strongly welcomed by the fans present there. Chennai Super Kings official twitter handle has shared a video in which Dhoni is taking guard in the nets and the crowd is there to see him and is calling his name.
Earlier, when Dhoni reached the state capital, he was given a grand welcome. Dhoni has not played since the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup played in England last year. He will return for 22 yards from this IPL.
Let us tell you that in January this year, the 38-year-old Dhoni was excluded from the Central Contract List. Last time he was in A-grade. Since then, the speculation of his retirement was intensified. However, Chennai franchise owner N. Srinivasan had made it clear that even though he (Dhoni) does not play for India, he will remain a part of Chennai for the 2021 season. Dhoni has been with the Chennai team since the first season of IPL i.e. 2008.
