House to house worship is going on in the district today on Ganesh Chaturthi. The Ganesh idols located in the temples are specially decorated. Laddus are offered to Lord Ganesha with colorful lights and attractive decorations. A beautiful tableau has been decorated in the Ganesh temple located in the vegetable market at the district headquarters. However, due to the Corona guidelines, the police have been deployed to ensure that the crowd does not gather.
The Ganesh temple of Jasota village is the center of faith of the people. Sant Ramdas Maharaj, with the inspiration of his Guru Gopaldas Maharaj, got the temple built and the idol installed. Ramdas Maharaj himself used to remove stones from the mine for construction. In 1987, he first got Adi Ganesh established. Later, he started collecting donations of one or two rupees daily from the drivers. In the end, his hard work was successful. A Bhamashah presented the idol and the temple was built in 1995-96 with the cooperation of the villagers. The idol of Ganesha was established in it along with Riddhi-Siddhi.
Every year a fair is held in the temple on Ganesh Chaturthi. It is decorated with an attractive tableau. This temple is the center of faith of the people of many nearby villages including Jasota, Banetha, Rohda, Haripura, Malgwas, Khuri, Bapi, Maheshwara. People come to invite Ganesha for marriages and other auspicious functions. There is a belief in Ganeshji among the distant people, who come here to ask for prayers. When the vow is fulfilled, people definitely come to distribute the Prasad.
The Trinetra Ganesh temple in the town of Santhal was built by the royal priests at the time of the construction of the fort about 400 years ago. Trinetra Ganesh temple has a lot of recognition in the area. A large number of devotees come here on Ganesh Chaturthi. Modak is offered to Ganesha at this festival. Mahant Mahesh Kumar Sharma told that the taluka in the town is today known as the court in which Rajpurohit used to reside. Mahant Jatashankar from Dhularavji was appointed for the service worship of the temple. Devasthan Department used to give the number of Bhog expenses in the temple till about 30 years ago, but now even this amount is not being received.
The best time for worship on Ganesh Chaturthi will be from 11:16 am to 1:34 pm. Pt. Kanta Prasad Maheshwara told that in Choghadiya of Char, Labh and Amrit from 6:15 am to 1:34 pm, in Shubh's Choghadiya from 12:24 to 1:56 pm and in Char's Choghadiya from 5:5 pm. Muhurta for worship will be from 02 to 6:34. Chaturthi date will remain in Chitra and Swati constellation till 9:58 pm. On this day there will also be a self-evident Abujha Muhurta.
