Devendra Fadnavis Resigns as Chief Minister of Maharastra

The term of the Maharastra's government is completed today. Now the chances of President's rule have increased in the state. Fadnavis is addressing the press conference. He said that I have submitted my resignation to the Governor and the Governor has accepted my resignation. I express my gratitude to the people of Maharashtra. Also, all the allied parties are also thankful. I thank PM Modi, BJP President Amit Shah and all political parties. The opposing political parties are also not our enemy. In five years, my government has developed a lot. I had tried to run the government with transparency in the state. This is why BJP became the largest party in elections. All options are open for government formation in the state.

He said that Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray did not make any promises on CM's term of 2.5-2.5 years in a meeting with BJP President Amit Shah. Amit Shah also denied this. Even before me, there was no discussion on the 50-50 formula. Uddhav Thackeray had earlier talked about forming a government. As soon as the result came, I thanked Uddhav and Shiv Sena. We did not make a single opposing statement against Uddhav. Any dispute can be resolved by negotiation. The 2.5-year Chief Minister Formula is an excuse for the Shiv Sena. Uddhav Thackeray's close friends are making inconsequential statements after the election results are out. After such statements it seems that they don't want to have a relationship with us. These statements were shock to us. Whatever conversations they do, they do through the media. Talk about forming a government cannot be done through the media.
