Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for the Jammu Prime Minister's Office, has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi attaches the highest importance to the North Eastern States along with the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

At a high level meeting in Kohima, Nagaland, Dr. Jitendra spoke about the steps being taken by the Prime Minister regarding the development of Jammu and Kashmir. Citing the development in Nagaland, he said that the steps taken to speed up development in the North East states are now being repeated in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

He said that in the field of development, Nagaland is becoming an example for other states and union territories of the country. Dr. Jitendra informed that in the second phase of Udaan scheme, importance will be given to the North Eastern states and other hilly regions of the country. During this, he spoke about the projects that accelerate development in Jammu and Kashmir.

There will no longer be a water crisis in Kishtwar, Jammu. There will be five lakh gallons of additional water supply under the Newgarh water supply scheme. However work on this scheme started in the year 2013. Limits were set several times to carry out the plan. Last week, under the scheme, a test was conducted to send water to the pipe which was successful.
