The trade fair has started at Pragati Maidan in Delhi, it is still some time for the general public to open, but the shadow of pollution has already started appearing on the fair. This is so because of ongoing construction works. Not only the country, people from all over the world come to participate in this trade fair, so tourists will have to come here with a lot of protection from the perspective of pollution.
Actually, work is underway to redevelop the Pragati Maidan area. There is an ongoing work to build an international exhibition center and some underpasses so that the traffic in Central Delhi can be reduced. Because of this, dust keeps blowing all over the area. The fair has started on the 14th. Business days are currently underway. Entry of common people will take place from 19th. This time it has been reduced to just 25000 square meters.
Due to pollution, construction work is currently banned in Delhi-NCR, hence no work is being done. There is also no water spraying on the areas around Pragati Maidan, due to which the problem has increased. Due to the work being stopped, the dust mounds have stood up from place to place. The dust is blowing more because there is no covering on the luggage.
Finished nearly one crore fine
These construction works are being done by PWD and NBCC (National Building Construction Corporation). Due to inability to control dust etc., both have been fined one crore rupees (in pieces), but no improvement has been made.
Trade Fair Administration is ready
The Trade Fair Administration has started preparing for the fight against pollution. ITPO official Rajesh Aggarwal said that air purifiers are being installed in the pavilion. Water spraying will also be done in the entire area.
