The Delhi government has decided to start the unlock process after witnessing a reduction in daily reported cases of coronavirus infection. While addressing the media after meeting with L-G Anil Baijal, CM Arvind Kejriwal said that relaxations will be given to businesses from May 31. Factories and construction activities will be allowed for one week from Monday.

With this, it has also been decided that Delhi Metro trains will remain suspended. The key meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) was held around 11:30 am on Friday morning. These decisions have been taken in this meeting, which was announced by CM Arvind Kejriwal.

Do not step out if it is not necessary: CM Kejriwal

Kejriwal has also appealed to the people of Delhi not to leave their homes if it is not necessary. He said that the result of the hard work of two crore people of Delhi is that the infection rate has reduced in the national capital.

He further said, "Positivity rate has come down to 1.5 per cent and around 1,100 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours in Delhi. The lockdown cannot be extended for an unlimited period since people are suffering and businesses are shutting down. In the coming days, we will have to see how much can be opened up and how it can be opened. But if the reopening is dependent on vaccination. Then we don't even know when we will be able to vaccinate all."

Positivity rate dipped below 2 percent:

Significantly, during the last one and a half weeks, Delhi is witnessing a sharp decline in the cases of coronavirus infection. The infection rate in Delhi has come down to 1.53 percent, which is the lowest in the last 64 days. Earlier on March 24, the infection rate was 1.52 percent. In the 24 hours, Delhi reported 1,072 new cases of coronavirus, the lowest in 66 days. While 117 patients died in the last 24 hours, which is lower than the previous days.
