Delhi Reports 131 Coronavirus Cases, Positivity Rate Remains below 1 Percent

In Delhi, 131 fresh cases of coronavirus infection were reported in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate in the city remained below 1 percent for the past few weeks. In addition, 355 patients have recovered, while 16 people died in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number tally has now increased to 14.30 lakh. Out of these, 14.01 lakh people have been cured and 24,839 have died. Currently, there are 3,226 patients, who are undergoing treatment in Delhi. Meanwhile, the positivity rate has also dipped to 0.22 percent.

On the other hand, AIIMS will begin the recruitment process for the clinical trial of the country's first indigenously-developed Covid-19 vaccine, Covaxin, among children in the age group of 6-12 years from Tuesday. Meanwhile, Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Monday inaugurated a special Covid-19 vaccination centre at a city school for students and people traveling abroad for work.

More than 70,000 cases reported in India:

India has been witnessing a gradual decrease in daily coronavirus cases. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India reported 70,421 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative count of the cases to 2,95,10,410. With 3,921 deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 3,74,305.

The country also witnessed 1,19,501 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recoveries to 2,81,62,947. With this, the country's recovery rate has increased to 95.43%. On the other hand, India's mortality rate stands at 1.27%. There has been a steady decline in active cases of coronavirus in the country. According to the latest data of the Union Health Ministry, in the last 24 hours, the active cases in the country have been reduced by 53,001.
