Amidst the claims of the Delhi government, Delhi is facing a floods-like situation. The roads of Delhi turned into ponds. There was severe traffic jam and trouble at many places. School-going students also had to face problems due to the opening of offices and schools due to rain.

Due to the record-breaking 112 mm of rain in Delhi in the last 24 hours, Delhi was left submerged. The low-lying areas were knee-deep in water, while Delhi's Minto Bridge, Pratap Nagar, Azad Market subway underpasses were flooded with traffic police blocking the road.

Rain breaks the record of 19 years in Delhi

The rain broke all the records of the last 12 years. Delhi has recorded 112.1 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials said the Safdarjung observatory recorded 112.1 mm of rain in the last 24 hours till 8.30 am on Wednesday, the highest in 19 years. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the national capital. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places with moderate rain or thundershower in the capital Delhi today.

A tree fell near PM residence, waterlogging at many places

In the VIP area Lutyens' Delhi NDMC area, there were complaints of falling trees at many places including the Prime Minister's residence, due to which the road was blocked. The NDMC staff quickly restored the traffic system by removing the tree. Along with this, there was a problem of waterlogging due to rain at many places including Chanakyapuri and India Gate. Due to this people had to face a lot of troubles.

Traffic police closed underpasses, water entered many police stations

Heavy rain on Wednesday morning exposed the government arrangements in Delhi. The place was filled with water, due to which there was a situation of jam. Minto Bridge was completely submerged in the rainwater. Because of this, the traffic police got that road closed.

Due to the torrential rains, roads were damaged in some places, while many police stations were flooded. Due to waterlogging around IGI Indoor Stadium and Indraprastha Metro Station, there was a long traffic jam on Ring Road from the crossing of Bhairon Road to the top of the rear bypass. In such a situation people had to face many difficulties.
