This time in view of Independence Day, security personnel who specialize in shooting down drones and light vehicles will be deployed on the buildings located around the Red Fort. The SOP also states that the DCP of the northern district, under whose jurisdiction the Red Fort falls, can identify the roofs of such a building, from where the complete aerial view of the district can be seen. Trained policemen will be deployed to shoot down drones on these rooftops. This security personnel will be equipped with wireless sets, binoculars, stick-mounted red flags, and loud haulers. The SOP states that every identified roof-top watcher should be accompanied by a well-trained policeman shooter. Armed with a long-range weapon, which can shoot down a flying object if needed.
In the SOP, other districts' DCPs have been told that special patrolling has been directed to keep a watch on any such attempt. To blow up paramotors in large plains, long stretches of under-utilized roads and bridges, especially in rural areas. The DCP has been asked to alert the intelligence system as well.
Beat constables should be suitably briefed about such objects and trained to deal with them when they spot them in the air or near critical installations/sensitive areas. It has also been said in the SOP that the security personnel should not shoot from the roofs. Due to this, there will be a fear of people getting injured on a large scale.
