Delhi News: 24-Year Psychiatrist Committed Suicide in Taj Ambassador Hotel

The mutilated body of a 24-year-old doctor was found in the suite of the Taj Ambassador Hotel in the capital Delhi on Friday afternoon. It is being said that a suicidal note has also been found from the scene in which lyrics of a song from the Linkin Park band are written. These words are – In the End, it does not even matter. '

Police say psychiatrist Karan Chandra lived with his father in Malviya Nagar area in South Delhi. At the same time, his elder sister and mother lived separately in Saket. A senior police officer says, 'He was a platinum customer and had been staying at the hotel since January 2019. He had specifically asked the hotel staff to give him a room where there is little sunlight. He was staying in a suite on the third floor in the hotel.

The police officer further said, 'On January 20, he put the tag of' Don't disturb 'outside his suite. He told the hotel staff that he was working with an overseas company in Odd Hours (untimely), so he should not be disturbed.

The matter came to light on Friday when the hotel staff tried to talk to them about their check-out date. "The duty manager tried to talk to him by calling his mobile number and intercom, but no response was received," said an official. The staff then tried to knock the door of his room and investigate, but still no response. The room was closed from inside. The staff then entered the suite with the master key in the room. Upon entering the suite, it was found that the bedroom was locked and smelled dirty from there. Police reached there after calling PCR at 4.10 pm. Karan was lying on his bed when the bedroom door was opened.

E Delhi DCP Dr Ish Singhal said that investigation has been started under CRPC section 174. In a suicide note from the scene, Karan wrote that he was committing suicide. He also wrote the contact number of his father and sister in the note. Photography and videography of the scene have been done. The body has been examined and no bruises have been found. The dead body was then shifted to RML Hospital for postmortem for further investigation.

Karan's family has been informed about the accident. Police say that only after talking to the family members will be able to clear why HE took a step like suicide. Initial investigations suggest that he died due to drug overdose and alcohol.
