Delhi jal Board Claims that Delhi Tap Water is not Drinkable

The Delhi Jal Board has rejected the Centre's report claiming that tap water in the capital is not drinkable. The Aam Aadmi Party has challenged the Center to take a sample of water from Delhi and BJP-ruled states and send it to the fair agency for investigation.

AAP raised questions on the report of the Center

Dinesh Mohania, vice chairman of Delhi Jal Board, said, "Where were these tests conducted and where is the detailed report." He claimed that the water quality of the city has been regularly checked and the water supplied meets all the WHO standards. Mohania further said that 'Random samples are taken every 2-3 hours and their quality is checked. The water in the capital is so good that recently the Union Minister of Water Power also admitted that the quality of water in Delhi is better than the European standard.

On the other hand, Union Consumer, Food and Public Distribution Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said, "We have been working on this for more than a year and are taking sample details. I have been living in Delhi since 1977 and I have seen how the quality of water is getting worse day by day. The poor quality of water is affecting children the most. When all the water samples are of the best quality, then I will be the person who is most happy with this. '
