In order to deal with the possible third wave, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority on Sunday implemented a graded action plan to tackle any surge in cases in the coming days. Under this, separate guidelines for four levels of severity that are marked by different colour codes, will come into effect after a formal order by the Delhi government.
During this, four types of alerts based on colors will work – Level-1 (Yellow), Level – 2 (Amber), Level -3 (Orange) and Level – 4 (Red). Meanwhile, there will be a complete lockdown in Delhi when the red alert is issued.
Level 1 alert will come into force if the national capital reports a positivity rate of over 0.5 per cent for two consecutive days or reports 1,500 new cases in a week or 500 oxygen beds are occupied in a week.
Meanwhile, Level -2 alert will be issued if Delhi reports a positivity rate of over 1 per cent for two consecutive days or reports 3,500 new cases in a week or 700 oxygen beds remained occupied within a week.
An orange alert will come into force when the state records a positivity rate of over 2 per cent for two days in a row or reports 9,000 new cases in a week. Over 1,000 oxygen beds occupied.
Red Alert will be declared if Delhi reports a positivity rate of over 5 per cent for two consecutive days. Over 16,000 cases reported over a week or 3,000 oxygen beds are occupied in a week. Meanwhile, all the curbs imposed under orange alert will stay in force and the city will be placed under complete curfew.
