Delhi Government Issues ‘Revised Covid Response Plan’ to Deal With Corona

Corona continues to wreak havoc in Delhi. According to the data released by the government, on Wednesday, 2033 new cases of corona were registered in Delhi and 48 patients lost their lives. Here, the government has released a 'Revised Covid Response Plan' on Wednesday to strengthen Corona's surveillance and response. In the Revised Plan, under the Special Surveillance Group, instructions related to screening and surveillance of drivers, plumber, electrician, domestic helper, mechanic, delivery of essential goods are given. Along with this, orders have been issued for areas with isolated cases and surveillance of high risk groups.

According to Delhi Revised COVID Response Plan, SOPs have been issued for different categories:-

A – Isolated case areas:-

  • The District Surveillance Unit (DSU) will collect detailed information on all such areas where isolated cases are being reported. For this, daily cluster report, line list and geographical mapping can be used. These components can be used for strict surveillance in the affected areas :-
  • More efficient contact tracing, which can be completed in 72 hours
  • There will be a door to door survey of SARI / ILI case through the Access Corona app
  • In identified areas, people falling under High Risk Group (HRGs) and Special Surveillance Group (SSGs) will be listed
  • Strict quarantine of all primary contacts coming into contact with positive cases in the last 15 days

B – High Risk Group (HRGs) – People over 60 years of age and suffering from co-morbidities.

  • Screening and medical records of people coming under HRG listing and those with direct contact will be maintained.
  • If HRG's direct contacts are found to be corona positive, then their isolation will be arranged immediately, although HRG is advised not to visit the Health Institution. But if they visit any dispensary, hospital, maternity center or other health facility of Delhi government then they will have to be tested under the ICMR guidelines and follow the COVID surveillance protocol.

C – Special Surveillance Group SSGs:-

These people are placed in the Special Surveillance Group:-

  • Rickshaws, autos, taxis and luggage carrier Lorries have been kept.
  • Maid and Daily Workers like – Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, and Mechanics.
  • People who supply food and important items like grocery, grocery, parcels and post supplies
  • Which are not included – shops, hospitals, restaurants, gyms, swimming pools, malls, social gatherings, rallies, festivals.
  • With the help of MCD, Transport, Police, RWA, DDA, all special surveillance groups will be listed.
  • Efforts will have to be made to start screening of special surveillance groups wherever possible in all districts. It will be compulsory to cover such points in places where special surveillance groups gather more. If any ILI / SARI case is found then it will be dealt as per standard health protocol.
  • Special surveillance groups visiting any dispensary, hospital, maternity center or other health facility of the Delhi government will have to undergo a test under the ICMR guidelines and follow the Kovid surveillance protocol.
  • Special disinfection work will have to be done on a large scale by identifying the place where the Special Surveillance Group will be assembled.
  • If a positive case is found in the special surveillance group, then it will be looked after under the COVID protocol. His home and work place will be immediately disinfected and sanitized and the process of contact tracing and surveillance will be done. Trace and contact primary contact directly and will have to be in strict quarantine for 15 days.
  • Special surveillance groups that have private or commercial vehicles will have to be encouraged to make their vehicles and working tools regular disinfect and sanitize.
