Along with the Center, the state government is also working very hard to curb the infection of Coronavirus in the country.  In the same sequence, the Yogi Adityanath government, which is opening the treasury for rescue, treatment and relief work, is also engaged in finding and source of income.  The state government has banned the increase in DA of teachers and DR of pensioners with more than 16 lakh government personnel in the state for saving the source of income.  Its mandate has also been issued.  Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has opposed this move of the government.

The Yogi Adityanath government, along with issuing this mandate, has also banned six more allowances of government employees.  The war against Corona infection, which poses the biggest threat to life, is being fought with equal preparation.  The Yogi Adityanath government of the state is looking for and saving sources of income along with opening of treasury for rescue, treatment and relief work.  The state government, which had made a lump sum of crores of rupees from the funds and salaries of the legislators in the state, was now eyeing the DA (dearness allowance) of state workers and teachers.

Like the Center, the state government has also banned the DA.  The government is estimated to save about Rs 15,000 crore.  In view of Covid-19 the lockdown is having a strong impact on the government's earnings.  Earnings are decreasing, there is a tremendous increase in the expenses of dealing with Corona.  In such a situation, the state government is seriously considering all the aspects that can improve the health of the state exchequer without incurring any financial burden on the general public.
