Mobile internet services were snapped at more than thirty places on Thursday, the second day after three terrorists were killed during an encounter in Srinagar. The agencies have taken this step in view of the nuisance and to stop the violence.
The police had come to know that some anti-social elements are working to incite people by publicizing the video after this encounter. After the encounter on Wednesday, some locals had staged a protest. Taking restraint, the security forces sent them back after mild resistance.

Security forces killed three Lashkar-e-Taiba affiliate organizations The Resistance Front's (TRF) top commander Mehran Yasin Shalla and two of his accomplices, who were travelling in a car under the Rambagh flyover.
Mehran was involved in the murder of a teacher and female Sikh principal who entered the school in the Idgah area of Srinagar. Two other terrorists killed along with him have been identified as Arafat Sheikh and Manzoor Ahmad Mir, both residents of Pulwama. However, the police have released the names of only two terrorists.
According to IG Kashmir Vijay Kumar, information was received that three terrorists were going to the airport road from Jahangir Chowk in a car. After getting information about this, special teams of CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police took a position under the Rambagh flyover.
At around 4.50 pm, three suspects were seen leaving in a WagonR car. When the security forces tried to stop them, they tried to run away by firing. But alert security forces exercised restraint in the busy area and killed all three in a brief encounter.
The place where the encounter took place is a very crowded area. As it was evening there was a lot of traffic on the road. The security forces achieved this success by taking limited and precise action. During this, there was a situation of the stampede in the area for some time. The security forces resumed traffic shortly after.
The IG said that the slain TRF commander Mehran was also involved in the killing of teacher Deepak Chand and Sikh woman principal Supinder Kaur in Srinagar's Idgah area on October 7, 2021. Apart from this, a case of involvement in the murder of many more innocent civilians is also registered against him. He is a resident of the Kani Mazar area of Srinagar.
So far, 143 terrorists have been successfully eliminated in the various operations in the valley this year. Among them are many commanders of different organizations. All organizations including Lashkar, Jaish, Hizbul and TRF have suffered heavy losses.
