Today in a meeting with the media, Admiral R Hari Kumar assured the "Atmanirbharta" by the end of 2047. Further the Admiral said that the government has ordered them to be self-reliant as much as possible, after the Russia-Ukraine war.

Recently, responding to the increased movement of ships in the Indian ocean region, the Navy chief said that they are being precautious with the matter, and are keeping a watch on the movements of the ships, he added, elaborating on efforts to achieve indigenization in the Indian Navy.

According to the data he mentioned, there are a lot of chinese ships in the Indian Ocean Region that operate with between 4 to 6 PLA navy ships in the ocean as fishing vessels, and apart from the chinese ships, there are 16 more regional ships that rove in the Indian water.

He also mentioned that the ships till now are causing no troubles in the working of the Indian Navy, and we are continuously keeping a watch on their activities.

Admiral R Hari Kumar's comment on Agniveer scheme

In his interview with the media, Admiral also mentioned his opinions on the "Agniveer scheme". He entitled the new evolutionary scheme as a transformational move in the society, and also congratulated all the 3000 Agniveers who have joined the forces.

With the data on the number of Agniveers, Admiral R Hari Kumar also described the women's participation in the scheme.

According to him, this year around 341 women candidates have participated to be a part of the elite forces of India.

The participation of women in the forces has enlightened him a lot, but on the other hand, he also warned all the female candidates to be prepared for the worst part of their lives as forces are not something that goes any soft on you because of your gender.

He said, "We have inducted 341 female candidates through Agniveer, and they will have to go with the same tests and training as the male candidates.

He also acknowledged that "these women sailors will be deployed on bases, ships, and aircraft. They will be trained to overcome fear and death in their lives ."
