 Step 1:

To make this recipe, firstly mix turmeric, cumin powder, chopped coriander, salt, wheat flour and oil in a large bowl and mix well. Knead the flour by adding water to it. When the dough is kneaded, roll it out like a chapati. Cut it squarely. If you like spicy food, you can also add red chili powder to it while kneading the dough.

Step 2:

Now put water in a big pot and heat it. When the water starts boiling add dhokli pieces in it and keep cooking it till it becomes soft. Remove excess water from it and keep the dhokli aside.

Step 3:

After this, put the dal in water in the pressure cooker and cook till it becomes soft. Then heat the oil by placing a pan on medium heat. When the oil is hot, fry it by adding bay leaves, curry leaves, cumin, and asafoetida powder. Fry all these spices for a minute while stirring them slowly and then add coriander powder, red chili powder, cumin powder and turmeric powder.

 Step 4:

Now mix all the ingredients very quickly and put dal and salt on these ingredients. Cook it for a few minutes and finally add the dhokli pieces and boil for 1-2 minutes. Add ghee on top to make it more tasty. Finally serve it hot with hot chapatis, rice, casserole or veg biryani.
