CTET: SC Asked the Center on Demand of 10% Reservation on Economic Basis

While hearing a petition demanding 10 percent reservation for economically weaker category candidates in CTET 2019, the Supreme Court has asked the Center and the CBSE to reply on Thursday. The vacation bench of Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice Sanjeev Khanna has issued a notice to the Central and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on the petition and asked them to file a reply by July 1 next date of hearing in the case.

The court was hearing a petition filed by some petitioners of economically weaker sections who are preparing to join CTET-099. The petitioners told the apex court that the CBSE had issued an advertisement on January 23, 2019, to conduct CTET.

In which there is no mention of giving 10 percent reservation to people of an economically weaker category of society. The CTET 2019 exam will be organized on July 7, 2019. The examination will be conducted in 97 cities ​​across the country in 20 languages.
