For the past few days, the price of crude oil is getting soft in the international market. Meanwhile, petrol and diesel prices remained steady on the third business day of the week. Petrol prices continued to fall for the first five days, while diesel prices have seen stability for the second consecutive day.
Let us tell you that on Tuesday, petrol prices were reduced by five paise per liter. Similarly, the last time diesel price was cut on Monday. On this day, the price of diesel was reduced by five paise in Delhi, three paise in Kolkata and Mumbai and two paise per liter in Chennai.
According to the website of IndianOil, petrol prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai are retaining Rs 72.60, Rs 75.32, Rs 78.28 and Rs 74.45 per liter respectively. Similarly, diesel prices in all the four metros are also being sold at Rs 65.75, Rs 68.16, Rs 68.96 and Rs 69.50 per liter, respectively, without any change.
Meanwhile, the international crude oil business remains soft compared to the previous session, but this month the price of benchmark crude Brent crude has soared more than two dollars per barrel so far. Brent crude's January delivery contract on the international futures market Intercontinental Exchange was trading at $ 62.57 a barrel, down 0.62 percent on Wednesday. At the same time, American light crude on the New York Mercantile Exchange was down 0.59 percent at $ 56.89 a barrel in West Texas Intermediate's December contract.
