A 75-year-old man was arrested by Police for killing his wife using a sharp-edged weapon in her sleep
In the Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh, a 75-year-old man was arrested for killing his 66-year-old wife. The man killed his wife as he doubted her character and murdered her using a sharp-edged weapon while she was asleep.
For the past few months, the two had been arguing about the same thing.
The incident came to light when villagers saw blood on the accused’s veranda. Upon seeing, the body of the victim, Lalita Devi, lying in a pool of blood under the cot. The villagers informed the police, who immediately rushed to the spot and arrested the accused Shiv Baran.
During interrogation, Shiv Baran admitted his crime and revealed that he had been doubting his wife’s character for a while now and would accompany her everywhere she went which created a plethora of conflicts between the two. However, he continued to suspect Devi and he got insane and thus he stabbed his wife with a sharp-edged weapon.
While speaking on the matter, Rajesh Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police (SP), said, “The man killed his wife with a sharp weapon because he had doubts about her character. We have arrested the accused and started further proceedings.”
