Ravi Kana, known as Greater Noida's biggest scrap mafia and iron smuggler, has finally been arrested. He and his girlfriend, Kajal Jha, both long-time fugitives, were arrested in Thailand.

The Noida police are now preparing to bring them back to India. In fact, the Noida police had issued lookout and red corner notices against Ravi Kana and Kajal Jha after receiving information that they had fled to Thailand.

Since then, Noida police had been in constant contact with the Thai police. Ravi Kana has been charged under gang rape and gangster laws.

Since January 1, 2024, the Noida police had been searching for Ravi Kana. A young woman had filed a rape case against him. Despite numerous raids on various locations, the gangster was not apprehended.

Subsequently, a case was registered against his girlfriend, Kajal Jha. Additionally, charges under the Gangster Act were registered against his wife and 14 others.

The police had already arrested the gangster's wife. The police had filed a 500-page chargesheet against Ravi Kana and his gang in court, describing Ravi Kana as the kingpin of illegal business, with Kajal Jha being described as an equal partner in the chargesheet.

Gangster's Fortunes Turned Upside Down Since the 11th Case

It's worth mentioning that until Ravi Kana had 10 cases registered against him, the scrap and iron theft racket thrived. However, as soon as an 11th case was filed against him by a young woman, the mafia's fortunes took a turn for the worse.

Last year, on December 30th, a young woman filed a gang rape case at the Sector 39 police station. According to the victim, Ravi Kana and 5 others had subjected her to gang rape approximately 6 months ago and had been threatening her since then by making videos.

The victim stated in her complaint to the police that she had been looking for a job a few months ago. During this time, she met Ravi Kana's associates, Rajkumar and Mehami.

They both said they could arrange a job for her through Ravi. Subsequently, they took the victim to the parking lot of Garden Galleria Mall, where she was introduced to Ravi Kana and his associates, Azaad and Vikas. During this encounter, they brandished a gun, raped her, and recorded a video.

Properties Worth 350 Crore Sealed

The Noida Police have sealed properties worth approximately 350 crore belonging to the gangster in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Bulandshahr, and Delhi.

This includes an 80-crore mansion in New Friends Colony, Delhi, owned by Ravi Kana. Additionally, the Noida Police have sealed 40 bighas of land in Khurja, Bulandshahr.

According to the police, the accused had acquired these properties with the proceeds of his crimes. He had also purchased a mansion in New Friends Colony in the name of his girlfriend.

Who is Ravi Kana?

Ravi Kana is the younger brother of Harendra Pradhan, also known as Harendra Nagar, a resident of Dadupur in Greater Noida. In 2015, a notorious gangster from Western Uttar Pradesh, Sunder Bhati, orchestrated the murder of Harendra Nagar.

Following the murder, Ravi Kana, citing threats to his life, requested protection from the Uttar Pradesh police. Subsequently, he, along with Harendra Nagar's wife and another brother, Rajkumar, were provided security by the UP police.

Taking advantage of this security, Ravi Kana emerged as a kingpin in the scrap and iron smuggling trade. However, his police security was withdrawn nearly six months ago, around the time when a gang rape case was filed against him.
