Five-Star Thief of Gujarat Jayesh Raoji Sejpal caught in CCTV Footage

Jayesh, a resident of Junagadh in Gujarat, is living in Mumbai these days. He targets weddings of large families held in five-star hotels.

Jayesh Raoji Sejpal (47), a vicious crook who stole jewellery and hair worth Rs 2 crore in Jaipur's five-star Hotel Clarks Amer, has been identified as Jayesh Raoji Sejpal (47). Jayesh, a resident of Junagadh in Gujarat, is living in Mumbai these days. He targets weddings of large families held in five-star hotels. Cases of theft are registered against Jayesh in five-star hotels in many big cities including Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Udaipur, Kanpur, Agra, Chennai. He has committed 13 thefts on the same pattern. A fluent English and another language expert, Jayesh calls the hotel and collects booking information for VIP weddings on the pretext of booking 20-25 rooms at once. After this, most travels by bus to reach that city.

Enters hotel with guests

He waits for the arrival of the guests at the five-star hotel. enters with them. Jayesh is so clever that while standing around the reception, he keeps an eye on the guests while tagging the luggage. Who will stay in which room, who has what luggage, which guest is not handing over his luggage to the hotel worker, all this he sees. Then targeting the same guest notes down the room number.

When the guests leave for the wedding ceremony. Then Jayesh opens the lock in the hotel by telling the name of the roommate. Then commits the crime and runs away. Before Udaipur and Jaipur, he has also done crimes in Jodhpur in the year 2013. He was first arrested in 2006 in Agra. Last caught in Chandigarh. Released on bail, he started stealing back.

15 lakh stole from Hotel Trident in Udaipur on 21 November

Before Jaipur, Jayesh had committed the incident on November 21 at Hotel Trident in Udaipur. He had escaped after stealing Rs 15 lakh from the room of Shrestha Kalra, a resident of Delhi. There also came in the CCTV footage. He was wearing the same clothes at the time of the incident in Jaipur and Udaipur. Shrestha Kalra had lodged a case at Ambamata police station in Udaipur. He had come to Hotel Trident to attend a friend's wedding. Where Jayesh targeted Shrestha Kalra. After going to his ceremony, calling himself the best Kalra, called at the reception. Then by saying that the lock would not open, he got the master's room opened by the master. He stole the money from there and fled.

Arriving in Jaipur and staying at the hotel in Banipark area

The police contacted the police of other districts of the state and outside states after the footage surfaced in the CCTV footage at Hotel Clarks Amer in Jaipur. Then he was recognized. Police may arrest Jayesh by tomorrow. Before the incident in Jaipur, Jayesh had also committed the incident at the five-star Trident Hotel in Udaipur. Preliminary investigation revealed that Jayesh had reached Jaipur on November 25 for the incident at Hotel Clarks Amer. Stayed here in a hotel in the Banipark area.

Jayesh had reached the hotel twice by autorickshaw

Jayesh Sindhi had reached Hotel Clarks Amer by taking an autorickshaw from Camp Bus Stand. He entered the hotel with the guests attending the wedding of the daughter of Chhattisgarh businessman Rajeev Bothra. Targeted his relative Rahul Banthia. After staying in the hotel for about three-four hours in the morning, he went back to his hotel. After this, he again reached Hotel Clarks Amer in the evening. Later the guests went to the sangeet ceremony, Rahul got the lock of Banthia's room opened and escaped with the jewellery kept in the vault.
