There has been a cyberattack on the server of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP). Given this information on Saturday, the bank said that some services of the bank have been stopped after the attack. However, both the bank's data and money are safe. According to NBP, this case related to the cyber security of the bank is being investigated. The bank also stated that no other bank has reported the incident of cyber attack. The bank said that they are taking stock of the situation and ensuring that the banking system is working properly or not. The National Bank said a cyberattack was detected on the bank's servers in the late hours of October 29 and early morning of October 30. After this, 40-50 local and international experts together took the system out of danger.

Services will resume by Monday

NBP President Arif Usmani said that three professional companies, including Microsoft, are working to restart the bank's services by Monday. He said that the services of the bank will have to be fully operational by Monday. On behalf of the Pakistan government, we send the salary on the 1st of every month. If 1st is a Monday, then, in any case, work in the bank has to be started by Monday. Usmani also told that this attack is similar to the cyberattack on the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). About two and a half months ago there was a cyberattack on FBR and it took about 2 weeks for the bank to recover from it.
