Woman Gang-Raped Inside New Delhi Railway Station: A case of gang rape has come to light under the foot-over bridge at New Delhi railway station.
The incident is being told on the night of 21 July. One of the accused is known to the woman.
Railway DCP Harendra Singh said that the 30-year-old victim was raped by the electrical maintenance staff on platforms 8-9 of the railway station on Thursday night.
All 4 accused are employees of the Electricity Department in the Railways.
The incident of gang rape took place inside the electrical maintenance staff hut. The woman who called the police at 2:27 am on Friday told that she was raped by two men in a room at the railway station.
This call was first received on PS ODRS. The staff there searched for the woman who called, but she could not be found.
On contacting the given mobile number, it was found that the woman is standing on platforms number 8-9 of New Delhi railway station.
Immediately after getting information about the incident, the SHO along with NDRS staff reached platform number 8-9.
Where the calling victim was present. The victim, a resident of Faridabad, told that she is separated from her husband for the last one year and is fighting a case in court for a divorce.
The victim told that about 2 years ago she came in contact with a boy through a common friend. The boy told him that he was a railway employee and would arrange a job for her.
After this the two started talking on the phone. On the night of July 21, the accused boy called the victim to a small party.
The accused said that it is his son's birthday, as well as he has also bought a new house, he has to give a party for this.
On being called by the accused, the victim came to Kirti Nagar via metro at around 10.30 pm.
From where the accused brought the victim to New Delhi Railway Station. There the accused boy asked to sit in a small room meant for the electric maintenance staff.
After a while the accused boy and his friend came inside the room and locked him from inside. After that both raped her. During this, two of his companions were guarding outside the room. The victim was also assaulted.
An FIR has been registered against the accused under section 376D/342 IPC. Four accused in this case have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. All 4 accused are employees of the Electricity Department in the Railways.
