Yogi Adityanath Recovers from COVID-19; Tests Negative

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has recovered from COVID-19 and has been tested negative for the virus on Friday.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has recovered from COVID-19 and has been tested negative for the virus on Friday. "With the help of best wishes and good care of doctors, I have been tested negative for COVID-19. Thank you all for the cooperation and best wishes," Adityanath tweeted in Hindi.

Adityanath had tested positive for coronavirus on April 14. He self-isolated himself after coming into contact with some officials who tested positive for COVID-19. The UP CM had received his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on April 5.

Over 3.80 lakh cases reported in India: 

India recorded 3,86,452 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. This is the highest single-day spike in the cases since the pandemic began last year. According to the Union Health Ministry, as many as 3,498 deaths and 2,97,540 recoveries were also recorded in the last 24 hours. The cumulative count of the COVID-19 cases has gone up to 1,87,62,976. The total active cases of the infection in India have now mounted to 31,70,228. As many as 2,08,330 people have succumbed to the disease so far. A total of 1,53,84,418 people have recovered from the disease till now.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), as many as 28,63,92,086 samples had been tested for COVID-19 up to April 29. Of these 19,20,107 samples were tested on Thursday across India. The total doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered stand at 15,22,45,179, informed the Union Health Ministry.

Delhi: Over 24,000 cases reported in the last 24 hours

On Friday, 24,235 coronavirus cases reported in the state. Meanwhile, 25,615 people recovered and 395 died. So far, 11.22 lakh people have been infected here. Of these, 10.08 lakh have cured, while 15,772 patients lost their lives. Currently, there are 97,977 patients who are undergoing treatment.
