WHO Thanks Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, India will Start Exporting Vaccines from October

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had said that India will resume exporting additional vaccines, but vaccination of the people of the country remains the top priority of the government.

In New Delhi, The World Health Organization (WHO) has welcomed India's decision to start exporting the vaccine again from October. WHO has thanked Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya for exporting the vaccine. Health Minister Mandaviya on Monday announced the resumption of export of vaccines under the 'Vaccine Friendship' program and the global 'Covax' initiative.

WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said, "WHO thanks Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya for announcing the resumption of important vaccine shipments from India in October under the Covax initiative. This announcement is important in support of reaching the target of 40 percent vaccination in all countries of the world by the end of the year.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had said that India will resume exporting additional vaccines. The immunization of the people of the country remains the top priority of the government. The minister said that the government will get more than 30 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccines in October. More than 100 crore doses in the next three months. He said that so far more than 81 crore doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been given in the country, the last 10 crore doses were given in just 11 days.

CPI and WHO co-leading 'Covax' initiative

Mansukh Mandaviya said that this is in line with our motto of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'. The Health Minister said that the supply of additional vaccines will be used to fulfill India's commitment to the world for the collective fight against Covid-19. Gavi is co-leading the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovation (CEPI) and the WHO 'COVAX' initiative.
