The most common symptoms seen in children include headache, fatigue, sore throat, and inability to recognize smells.

Cases of long covid in children are rare

This research has been prepared with the help of Covid App 'Joe', which is used by parents and caregivers of children. The app contains health data of more than 2.5 lakh children in the age group of 5 to 17 years. During the research between September 2020 and February 2021, 7 thousand of these children were showing symptoms of Covid.

Out of these, there were 1,734 children whose time to get infected with corona and complete recovery was known. Of these, 5-11-year-olds took 5 days to beat Corona. At the same time, it took 7 days for a child of 12 to 17 years to recover. There were very few of these children who showed symptoms of corona for 4 weeks.

Most children are asymptomatic

Researchers say that the risk of getting Covid in children is very low compared to adults. Many children who are infected do not even show symptoms or have mild symptoms.
