Health Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Dr. Zafar Mirza, has said that unlike China, a large number of people affected by Corona virus in Pakistan are youth. According to the report published in Pakistani media, Mirza told reporters that 24 percent of confirmed cases of corona virus in Pakistan are related to youth between 21 and 30 years. It is the highest among all age groups. This pattern differs from other countries where the majority of the elderly have been found so far to be originally corona virus victims.

The report said that although Mirza did not give information of patients according to all age groups, but from what he told, it became clear that no age group is outside the scope of this disease.

In addition, there are reports from the US and Europe that the corona virus has caught young people fast there. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has reported that out of the first 2500 corona virus patients in the US, 750 patients were between 25 and 44 years old.

Mirza also said that 93 percent of the total cases of corona virus in Pakistan are related to infection from foreigners while seven percent are due to local infection. He said that 64 per cent of the total patients are males and 36 per cent females.

It should be noted that the number of people infected with Corona virus in Pakistan has crossed 1100 and 9 people have died so far. The Imran Khan government has launched troops throughout the country to prevent the growing infection.
