Pakistan Government Decides to Take Strict Action against COVID-19 SOP Violators

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) of Pakistan's high-level body is monitoring the situation arising due to the COVID-19 in the country.

The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is in force in Pakistan to prevent infection of COVID-19 but it is not being followed properly. Pakistan has decided to take administrative action against its violators. The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) of Pakistan's high-level body is monitoring the situation arising due to the COVID-19 in the country.

Earlier, the district administration of Islamabad made it mandatory to wear face masks. People will have to pay fines for not applying face masks in public places. The district deputy commissioner (DC) Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat said that this decision has been taken to prevent the infection of COVID-19 and those who violate it will have to pay 3000 PKR ($ 18).

Health experts of the country have emphasized on wearing masks, saying that the risk of infection can be reduced by 75 percent. Actually, the graph of infection cases has been increasing since the relaxation of lockdown. In this way, the government has made it mandatory to wear masks in all the crowded areas, markets and public transport.

According to the World Health Organization, the first COVID-19 case reported in Pakistan on February 26, which has now increased to 85,264, while the death toll has increased to 1770. At the same time, the number of people infected worldwide has increased to 6,485,526 of which the number of deaths is 386,704.
