Maharashtra: Families of Policemen Who Lost Their lives due to Corona will be Able to Stay in Government Homes till Retirement

The government will provide assistance of 65 lakh rupees to these families, while they will be able to stay in the government accommodation provided till the period of their retirement

In Maharashtra, the Maharashtra government has made big announcements for the families of policemen who lost their lives while doing duty during the coronavirus pandemic. The government will provide assistance of 65 lakh rupees to these families, while they will be able to stay in the government accommodation provided till the period of their retirement. State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh announced this on Friday. He said in a video that the government will help the families of the policemen who lost their lives due to Corona.

He said in the video, 'The families of the policemen who lost their lives in the front-line fight against Corona need not worry about the roof over their heads. The family members of the policemen who died due to Covid-19 can stay in the government houses till the date of their retirement.

4,326 Policemen have been hit by Corona in the State 

Deshmukh said that the state government has taken this decision on humanitarian grounds. He said, 'We can do at least this much in return for the supreme sacrifice of policemen.' He also said that during the line of duty, 4,326 policemen have been hit by Corona in the state and out of these 3,282 have recovered, but it is unfortunate that 54 policemen have died due to this.

More than 4000 died in Mumbai

If we talk about total cases of coronavirus in Maharashtra, then on Thursday, 4,841 new cases of Covid-19 were reported and the total cases increased to 1,47,741. At the same time, the number of deaths increased to 6,931. In Mumbai alone, the number of corona patients reached above 70,000 mark and the total number of fatal infected in the city has reached to 70,990, whereas the death toll has reached 4,060. The BMC said that 2,141 patients were discharged from the hospital after recovering on Thursday. So far, 39,151 patients in the city have recovered from the disease. In Mumbai, 27,779 patients are undergoing treatment for infection while 790 new suspected patients have been admitted to hospitals.
