Kaanwar Yatra 2021 Ban: Devotees can bring Ganga Jal by Tankers

There will be a ban on Kaanwar Yatra this year. The option of providing Ganga water for the consecration of Shiva is being considered.

A special option has also been considered in the meeting for Jalabhishek if there is a ban on Kaanwar Yatra. Under this, people of a particular area can take Gangajal by tanker. Jalabhishek can be done in local temples by taking water from this tanker.

Ban on Kaanwar

There will be a ban on Kaanwar Yatra. In such a situation, the option of providing Ganga water for the consecration of Shiva is being considered. DGP Ashok Kumar said that he has spoken to all the officials in this regard. Under this, preparation needs to be done at each police station level. The police station will hold a meeting with the Kaanwar committees of their area. After this, if a thousand people from that area come with Kaanwar, some of them as representatives can take Ganga water by tanker. Haridwar Police Administration will also cooperate in this. This will neither cause unnecessary crowding nor will there be a violation of orders. Almost all officials have agreed to this option.

The real challenge of Kaanwar

The borders on the road will be closed for private vehicles. The real challenge will be in identifying the passengers coming by buses and trains. In this regard also, police officials say that intelligence will be active for this.

The additional police force on the Border

The DGP said that extra vigil will be taken during the travel period at the borders of Haridwar. Last year the people of Uttar Pradesh and other states had cooperated. It was strictly enforced for a few days only. After this there was laxity, but still, the public did not come. Now this year also additional police force will be deployed on all the borders.

Only 1.6% are local devotees

The number of local people to take water in the Kaanwar fair is very less. In the year 2019, about three crore devotees had come to the Kaanwar Mela. Of these, the number of local passengers was only 1.6 percent. Haridwar was the highest at 32 percent and then Uttar Pradesh at 27 percent. Last year there was no Kaanwar Yatra.
