Jammu and Kashmir: 162 New Cases of Coronavirus reported in a Single Day

The highest number of 162 new cases of coronavirus were reported in one day in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, increasing the number of infected people in the state to 1,921. Apart from this, a 55-year-old person infected with Covid-19 died in Srinagar, after which the number of people who lost their lives due to Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir has increased to 25.

Officials said the man, who hails from Fateh Kadal area of ​​the city, died in the Chest Disease (CD) Hospital, officials further said the patient was shifted from SICU SMHS to CD Hospital after he was found infected with Corona virus on 18 May, whereas the patient was already suffering from a serious illness and underwent surgery.

Officials said the patient's health was improving, but on Wednesday evening, he suddenly suffered a heart attack twice in a short span of time and died. With this, the death toll from Covid-19 has increased to 25 in the Union Territory. The official said that in 162 new cases of coronavirus infected reported in the Union Territory, 38 have been reported from Jammu and 124 from Kashmir.

With this, the number of patients infected with Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir has increased to 1921. Officials said that of these, 1,535 cases of coronavirus infected are in Kashmir while 386 cases are in Jammu region, while in the state, 753 people have been discharged from hospital while 1,041 people are still under treatment.
