A shocking report has come out about Post Corona. According to research, due to Corona, the average age of Indians has come down by 2 years. According to the International Institute of Population Studies (IIPS), the average age of Indian men in 2019 was 69.5 years, which has come down to 67.5 years in 2020. Similarly, the average age of Indian women, which used to be 72 years in 2019, has now come down to 69.8 years. This study by IIPS Assistant Professor Suryakant Yadav has been published in the journal 'BMC Public Health'. The greatest reduction in average age has occurred in Spain.
In this new study, changes in the life cycle of different age groups were also looked at. In this, it was found that the age group of 35 years to 69 years had the highest death rate for men. According to experts, in the year 2020, due to corona, more people of this age died and due to this, the decline in average age has had a significant impact.
According to study researcher Suryakant Yadav, whatever progress we had made in the last decade to increase the average lifespan, the corona epidemic has dented it. He said that life expectancy at birth in India is now the same as it was in 2010. Now it will take many years for us to reach the position of 2019. In the language of medical science, the average life span is called 'life expectancy'. It refers to the average length of life that is expected to be lived.
The global burden of disease in 145 countries has also been included in this study. Apart from this, life expectancy analysis was also done through the Kovid India Application Programming Interface portal. It was found in the study that India comes in the middle in terms of the impact of Kovid on the mortality rate of countries around the world.
Life expectancy at birth has decreased by more than a year in England and Wales, USA. Life expectancy in Spain has dropped to 2.28 years. If the data of the Ministry of Health is seen, then the shortfall of two years in the average lifespan is huge. According to the data of the central government, since March 2020, there have been four and a half lakh deaths due to corona infection in India.
