Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday informed that India will fully vaccinate all citizens against COVID-19 by the end of 2021. The Ministry of Health has so far prepared a roadmap for the production of 216 crore doses of the vaccine. At the same time, the Ministry on Friday said that currently, more than 1.84 crore vaccine doses are available with the states and union territories.

Javadekar criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on India's ongoing vaccination drive. Rahul Gandhi on Friday slammed the Modi government saying that only 3 percent of India's population is inoculated.

India's vaccination will complete before 2021: Javadekar

During a press briefing, Javadekar said, "The vaccination in India will complete before 2021. The Health Ministry has given a blueprint. 108 crore people – with 216 crore doses – will vaccinate by December. Rahulji… if you're concerned about vaccination then pay attention to Congress-ruled states… there is a mess. They are not taking the quota given to them for 18-44-year-old beneficiaries from May 1."

Russian vaccine Sputnik-V will be available in June:

Significantly, in the battle against COVID-19, another vaccine 'Sputnik V' will be available in the country from next month. The Russian vaccine will be available for use in the country from the second week of June. This vaccine will be available through Apollo Hospital for the first time in the country. Meanwhile, the Apollo Group of Hospitals has announced that it will begin mass vaccination of Russia's Sputnik V vaccine in its hospitals across the country from the second week of June.
