IAF Airlifts Six Cryogenic Oxygen Containers from Dubai

A C-17 aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Monday airlifted six empty cryogenic oxygen containers from Dubai for COVID-19 relief operations. The aircraft airlifted the empty cryogenic oxygen containers from Dubai on April 26 and landed around 7:15 pm at Panagarh in West Bengal on the same day.

According to IAF, another C17 aircraft of IAF airlifted four empty containers from Bangkok and landed at Panagarh early morning on Tuesday for COVID-19 relief operations. Within India, IAF airlifted one cryogenic oxygen container from Baroda to Ranchi, two containers from Pune to Jamnagar, two containers from Bhopal to Jamnagar, three containers from Jaipur to Jamnagar, three from Indore and Bhopal to Jamnagar and one cryogenic oxygen container from Hindan to Panagarh on Monday.

Over 3.23 cases reported in India:

Amidst the devastating second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, India reported 3.23 lakh fresh coronavirus cases and over 2,700 related deaths in the last 24 hours. A total of 3,23,144 new COVID-19 cases, 2771 related deaths and 2,51,827 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours. Taking the total active cases to 28,82,204, as per the health ministry update on Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, the total count of positive cases now stands at 1,76,36,307, including 1,97,894 deaths and 1,45,56,209 recoveries. As many as 28,09,79,877 samples tested for COVID-19 up to April 26, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) informed. Of these 16,58,700 samples tested on Monday. The total doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered stand at 14,52,71,186.

Maharashtra: 48,700 cases reported

On Tuesday, the state reported 48,700  new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 71,736 patients recovered and 524 died. So far, 43.43 lakh people have been affected by the epidemic in the state. Of these, 36.01 lakh people have recovered, while 65,284 have died. Currently, there are about 6.74 lakh people, who are undergoing treatment.
