About 67.6% of Indians have developed antibodies against SARS-COV-2. This means that more than half of the Indians have been able to fight Corona. This has been revealed by the fourth serosurvey of the government. In view of the possible third wave of Corona, the Ministry of Health has issued a guideline regarding travel. It states that there is a need to avoid traveling without full vaccination.

The ministry has said these 7 things…

  1. No place for laxity: Sero-survey has shown a ray of hope against Corona, but no laxity can be given right now. 32% people are still not safe from corona.
  2. No statement on district-wise situation: The government said that the situation may be different at the local or district level. In the sero-survey, the overall situation of the country has been looked at.
  3. State-Level Action Required: States should continue with local sero-surveys to find out what percentage of the population is protected against COVID.
  4. Possible arrival of third wave: The ministry said that waves of infection may come in future. Actually, in some states, immunity against corona has been found at a high level, while in some places it is very low.
  5. Avoid non-essential travel: From the first week of July, many states have started easing restrictions. Due to this, the tourist spots and markets are getting crowded, due to which the risk of infection is increasing. People need to avoid non-essential travel.
  6. Avoid gatherings: Many states have relaxed the restrictions for meetings, but there is a need to avoid it for now. The government of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi has recently canceled the Kanwar Yatra.
  7. Travel after full vaccination: The government said that travel only after full vaccination. That is, only those who have taken both the doses of the vaccine after the prescribed interval should go on the journey.

Advice to open a primary school in Serosurvey

A large number of children are also included in the development of antibodies. On the question of opening of schools, ICMR Director General Dr. Balram Bhargava said that schools can be opened, because the risk of infection in young children is less as compared to adults. He suggested that primary schools should be opened in the initial phase, after that secondary schools can be opened.

Teachers and staff should be vaccinated

Dr. Bhargava said that young children handle the virus very easily as compared to adults. Young children's lungs have fewer receptors where the virus attacks. Along with this, he suggested that if schools are opened, then all the support staff from teachers should be fully vaccinated. Also, the rules of Corona should be fully followed.
