France has decided to re-enforce strict COVID-19 restrictions on arrivals from the UK who are not French residents to curb the spread of the virus. The restrictions have been extended for passengers arriving from the UK from 31 May. Seven-day isolation and Covid negative report is a must for those arriving in France from Britain.

According to media reports, all travelers arriving from the UK will now have to show the COVID-19 Negative Report up to 48 hours in advance and will have to isolate for a week.

French foreign minister issued a statement in this regard:

Meanwhile, the French Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that 'strict regulations are being re-enforced for non-French people coming from Britain. It is necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Compelling reasons will be required for non-EU foreigners who are not residents in France. And who come to France from the United Kingdom."

The ministry added, however, that, for now, there would be "no systematic checks" to ensure compliance with the requirement, "given the low incidence of Covid in Britain". Travelers from Britain will still need a PCR or antigen test less than 48 hours old to be allowed into the country.
