Coronavirus pandemic continues wreaking havoc worldwide. According to worldometer.com, a total of 208,100,388 cases have been reported so far. Of these, 186,568,757 people have recovered, while 4,377,478 people have died.

Sydney lockdown fines raised as Australia faces worst Coronavirus situation:

Australia on Friday announced to increase fines to people breaching lockdown rules in the state of New South Wales as the state has been battling Delta variant. According to the officials, Sydney, the state capital, heads into its eighth week of lockdown. Last month, Premier Gladys Berejiklian called on the federal government to provide more coronavirus vaccines for the worst-affected suburbs west and south of Sydney.

An increase in cases of local infection has been registered in the country's majority state of New South Wales. In the last 24 hours, 466 new infected have been reported here. Here the police impose a fine of 5000 Australian dollars ($3,700) for violating the rules applicable under the lockdown.

More than 32,000 cases reported in India:

India has been witnessing a gradual decrease in daily coronavirus cases. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India reported 32,937 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative count of the cases to 32,225,513. With 417 deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 4,31,642.

The country also witnessed 35,909 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recoveries to 3,14,11,924. With this, the country's recovery rate has increased to 97.48 %. On the other hand, India's mortality rate stands at 1.34 %. There has been a steady decline in active cases of coronavirus in the country. According to the latest data of the Union Health Ministry, in the last 24 hours, the active cases in the country reduced by 3389. Meanwhile, the number of active cases in the country stands at 3,81,947.
