New universal COVID-19 vaccine may help prevent future pandemics:

US scientists have developed a universal vaccine that protected rats not just against COVID-19 but also other coronaviruses. The vaccine has triggered the immune system to fight off a dangerous variant. This vaccine is going through its final stages. Once this vaccine is ready, then we will have a powerful weapon to fight such epidemics in the future.

The trial of this vaccine is currently being undergoing on rats. When this vaccine was tested on mice, the vaccine developed many such antibodies that can counter many spike proteins. This also included variants such as B.1.351 found in South Africa.

More than 50,000 cases reported in India:

India has been witnessing a gradual decrease in daily coronavirus cases. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India reported 50,848 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative count of the cases to 3,00,28,709. With 1,358 deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 3,90,660.

The country also witnessed 68,817 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recoveries to 2,89,94,855. With this, the country's recovery rate has increased to 96.56%. On the other hand, India's mortality rate stands at 1.30%. There has been a steady decline in active cases of coronavirus in the country. According to the latest data of the Union Health Ministry, in the last 24 hours, the active cases in the country have been reduced by 19,327.

Cases of Delta variant increased by 79 percent in UK:

Meanwhile, the mass vaccination is underway at London's club Chelsea and Tottenham Football Stadium in Britain. According to Public Health England, cases of the delta variant in the younger population have increased by 79% in last one week.
