Coronavirus pandemic continues wreaking havoc worldwide. According to worldometer.com, 179,556,596 cases have been reported so far. Of these, 164,262,698 people have recovered, while 3,888,902 people have died.

Cases of Delta variant increased by 79 percent in UK:

Meanwhile, the mass vaccination is underway at London's club Chelsea and Tottenham Football Stadium in Britain. According to Public Health England, cases of the delta variant in the younger population have increased by 79% in last one week.

Over 300 Million vaccine doses administered in US in 150 Days: Biden

US President Joe Biden has announced that 300 million vaccine shots administered in the 150 days since he took office. The country has set a target of administering at least one dose to 70% of adults by July 4. So far, 65 percent of the people administered at least one dose. Biden appreciated scientists, companies, citizens and his whole-of-government effort. The president noted that the widespread vaccination campaign had set the stage for most Americans to have a relatively normal summer as businesses reopen and employers hire.

More than 42,000 cases reported in India:

India has been witnessing a gradual decrease in daily coronavirus cases. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India reported 42,640 new coronavirus cases (lowest in 91 days) in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative count of the cases to 2,99,77,861. With 1,167 deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 3,89,302.

The country also witnessed 81,839 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recoveries to 2,89,26,038. With this, the country's recovery rate has increased to 96.49%. On the other hand, India's mortality rate stands at 1.30%. There has been a steady decline in active cases of coronavirus in the country. According to the latest data of the Union Health Ministry, in the last 24 hours, the active cases in the country have been reduced by 40,366.
