Coronavirus pandemic continues wreaking havoc worldwide. According to worldometer.com, 169,143,484 cases of coronavirus have been reported so far. Of these, 150,788,592 people have been cured, while 3,513,941 people have died.

B.1.617 variant identified in 53 countries so far:

Let us tell you that the B.1.617 variants are divided in three lineages – B.1.617.1, B.1.617.2, and B.1.617.3. During their investigation, it has been found that there have been some changes in their genetic structure. According to the World Health Organization, B.1.617.1 variant has been found in about 41 countries, B.1.617.2 type in 54 countries, while B.1.617.3 type has been found in six countries so far.

South Korea to Lift Mask Mandate Rule for Vaccinated people:

South Korean officials on Tuesday informed that people who have received at least one shot of COVID-19 will be able to go outdoors mask-free from July. Health Minister Kwon Deok-chul said on Wednesday that the scheme depends on the vaccination run by the government.

In fact, the government is planning to administer the first dose of vaccine to 13 million people by the end of June. Officials also said that people have to put on masks where it is difficult to maintain physical distance. So far, around 3.9 million people have taken vaccine dose, which is 8 percent of the total population.

More than 2.11 lakh coronavirus cases reported in India:

India has been witnessing a gradual decrease in daily coronavirus cases. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India reported 2,11,298 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative count of the cases to 2,73,69,093. With 3,847 deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 3,15,235.

The country also witnessed 2,83,135 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recoveries to 2,46,33,951. With this, the country's recovery rate has increased to 90.01%.
