Coronavirus: With Spike of 2.11 lakh Cases, India’s Total Tally Surpasses 2.73 Cr

India has been witnessing a gradual decrease in daily coronavirus cases. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India reported 2,11,298 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative count of the cases to 2,73,69,093. With 3,847 deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 3,15,235.

The country also witnessed 2,83,135 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recoveries to 2,46,33,951. With this, the country's recovery rate has increased to 90.01%.

Decline in active cases continue:

There has been a steady decline in active cases of coronavirus in the country. According to the latest data of the Union Health Ministry, in the last 24 hours, the active cases in the country have been reduced by 75,684.  Meanwhile, the number of active cases in the country stands at 2,41,9907. The active cases rate in India stands at 8.84%. On the other hand, India's mortality rate stands at 1.15%.

Over 33 crore samples tested so far:

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 21,57,857 samples were tested across the country on Wednesday. Meanwhile, a total of 33,69,69,353 samples have been tested so far till May 26.

Over 20 crores vaccine doses administered so far:

Meanwhile, mass vaccination against COVID-19 is underway in the country. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, so far 20,26,95,874 people have been vaccinated in the country. Out of this, 18,85,805 vaccines were administered in the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra: 24,752 cases reported

On Thursday, the state reported 24,752 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 23,065 patients recovered and 992 died. So far, 56.50 lakh people have been affected by the epidemic in the state. Of these, 52.41 lakh people have recovered, while 91,341 have died. Currently, there are about 3.15 lakh people, who are undergoing treatment.

Delhi: 1,491 cases reported in the last 24 hours

On Thursday, 1,491 coronavirus cases reported in the state. Meanwhile, 3952 people recovered and 130 died. So far, 14.21 lakh people have been infected here. Of these, 13.78 lakh have cured, while 23,695 patients lost their lives. Currently, there are 19,148 patients who are undergoing treatment.
