Coronavirus: Pakistan Reported 5248 New Cases with 97 Deaths in Last 24 Hours

Pakistan's Imran government seems to be completely unsuccessful in dealing with the Coronavirus epidemic. On Monday, 5,248 new cases of coronavirus have been reported and 97 people have also died during this period. The number of infected in the country has increased to 1,44,676, while a total of 2,729 people have died so far. According to the Ministry of National Health Service, 29,085 people have been tested in the last 24 hours.

There are more than 1 lakh cases of coronavirus in Pakistan's Punjab and Sindh alone. Of the total cases of infection in the country, 54,138 cases are in Punjab, 53,805 cases in Sindh, 18,013 cases in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 8,569 cases in Islamabad, 8,177 cases in Balochistan, 1,129 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 647 cases in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

The ministry said that more than 97 patients have died in the last 24 hours, while the total number of deaths has increased to 2729. While 53,721 people infected with corona in the country have recovered. The Minister of Planning, Asad Umar, warned on Sunday that by the end of July the number of corona infections could reach 1.2 million in the country.

According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, more than 79 million people worldwide are infected with the deadly pandemic and more than 4,30,000 people have died. At the same time, the number of infected in the US has crossed 20 lakhs, while more than 1.15 lakh people have died. The coronavirus, which originated from China's Wuhan city in December last year, has had the worst impact on the global economy.
