India has been witnessing a gradual decrease in daily coronavirus cases. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India reported 42,909 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative count of the cases to 3,27,37,939. With 380 deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 4,38,210.
The country also witnessed 34,763 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recoveries to 3,19,23,405. With this, the country's recovery rate has increased to 97.51 %. On the other hand, India's mortality rate stands at 1.34 %. Meanwhile, the number of active cases in the country stands at 3,76,324. The active cases rate in India stands at 1.15 %.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 14,19,990 samples were tested across the country on Sunday. Meanwhile, a total of 52,01,46,525 samples tested so far till August 29.
Meanwhile, mass vaccination against COVID-19 is underway in the country. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, so far 63,43,81,358 have been vaccinated in the country. Out of this, 31,14,696 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
