Coronavirus pandemic continues wreaking havoc worldwide. According to worldometer.com, 171,084,991 cases of coronavirus have been reported so far. Of these, 153,226,975 people have been cured, while 3,557,990 people have died.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday extended the suspension of passenger flights from India till June 30 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. On the other hand, Bangladesh has also closed the borders with India for 14 more days. However, freight movement from the border will continue. The UAE suspended all passenger flights from and to India on 25 April in view of increasing cases of coronavirus infections. Emirates Airlines said in a notice issued on its website, "It has suspended passenger flights from India effective April 24 until June 30. Furthermore, passengers who have transited through India in the last 14 days will not allow traveling from any other point to the UAE."
After controlling the spread of Coronavirus to a great extend, China is again witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases. Meanwhile, a lockdown has been imposed in a neighborhood of the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou. The government has urged the officials to conduct door-to-door Covid testing and requested citizens to remain indoors till the spread of the virus is under control.
India has been witnessing a gradual decrease in daily coronavirus cases. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India reported 1,52,734 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative count of the cases to 2,80,47,534.
The country also witnessed 2,38,022 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recoveries to 2,56,92,342. With this, the country's recovery rate has increased to 91.60%. With 3,128 deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 3,29,100. On the other hand, India's mortality rate stands at 1.17%.
