Coronavirus is spreading in Pakistan continuously. 8310 cases have been reported so far. Pakistan's Punjab province is the worst affected and 3721 cases have been reported. The second most affected province is Sindh where 2544 cases of corona have been reported. At number three is Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where 1137 cases have been reported. The fourth number is Balochistan and 432 cases have been reported. Gilgit at number five with 257 cases in Baltistan and Islamabad at number six where 171 cases have been reported. At number seven is Ghulam Kashmir with 48 cases.
In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region, it directly connects Pakistan with China's Xinjiang province. This is also the area from which the economic corridor under construction between China and Pakistan passes. Due to this project of billions of dollars, ten thousand Chinese citizens were present here in December.
Due to this economic corridor under construction between the two countries, Chinese citizens could easily come to this province of Pakistan. At the time when its outbreak was increasing throughout China, there was no restriction on those coming or going on this border.
According to Pakistani newspapers, the border was used extensively by Pakistani nationals from China when the virus outbreak spread to Xinjiang province. Initially, there were fewer cases in this province in Pakistan, but later the number of these cases increased steadily. The reason for this was the lack of health facilities. This was also acknowledged by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in his address to the country.
